Dick Clark is gone, but Dick Clark Productions lives on, and if reports that "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest wants to buy the production company are true, he will be negotiating with Redskins owner Dan Snyder.

Dick Clark Productions, owned by Snyder’s investment firm Red Zone Capital Group LP, hired investment banker Raine Group LLC last week to advise the company on a possible sale.

The company brought on Raine “to help us think through our options and to organize any conversations with any interested parties,” Bloomberg News quoted Dick Clark Productions as saying in an email.

Reuters reports Ryan Seacrest Media is among the potential buyers, having requested information on the company being made available to interested parties by Raine.

Dick Clark Productions’ properties include the Golden Globe Awards, the American Music Awards, "So You Think You Can Dance," and "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve." The company also owns restaurants.

Snyder serves as Dick Clark Productions chairman and managing member of Red Zone Capital.
