Andor Ep. 5. I like that the writers are in no rush here. They want us to know these people and how desperate and afraid they are. They want us to know what it feels like to wait with them.

Andor Ep. 6. Oh my! Far from the world of George Lucas we are. No Force, no light-sabres, no Jedi, no charming little droids—and little of the simplistic morality of the Skywalker saga. Lots of whimpering, sniveling, and preening here—in short, real people, not heroic archetypes.

One wonders where the series will go next, there being so many characters just begging for more exposition. Can’t wait to see.

No Greedo debate here

Andor Ep. 7. As one reviewer put it, more or less, “The good guys are ruthless and the bad guys are sympathetic….”

Andor Ep. 8. No car chases or explosions but intense all the same: we can see the fist of the Empire slowly closing even as we already know who slips through those dull fingers. Wonder what we're being set up for this time?

Any idea what the widgets they were making in the labor camp are? Thought they might be feet for scout walkers?

I wondered that, too. I’ll have to rewatch to get another look—not that it will help much. I also wondered about the clandestine communication device—unless George Lucas altered the physics of radio communications, in which case all bets are off.

Had to look that one up. So it was Ursula wot dun it, not George? Time to reverse the polarity on my negative power coupling, I guess.
I knew of it first from OSC's Ender's Game and its related novels. I read Ursula's versions later.

Wasn't this stuff already in SW though? I remember Andor talking with the rebel base while in hyperspace in R1.

I was taken by the neologism without reference to its location in the SW narrative.

There does appear to be a whole SF mythology about what can or cannot be done while traveling faster than light, e.g., for most of the Star Trek narratives, communications were possible at warp speed and other vessels could be tracked, but the transporter could not be used. SW appears to be a tad more restrictive: tracking other vessels in hyperspace became possible only at the time of _Last Jedi_.

Andor Ep. 9. Layers and interconnections. More layers and more interconnections. Who knows how deep the rabbit holes go? Will Syril Karn come back to haunt Dedra Meero? Or is he just a macguffin? Etc., etc.
