Mando Rides Again S3:E1. You’ll get no such synopsis from me. The writing is lovely and taut, reminding us just how lax it was in Boba Fett. Where Din Djarin found himself on a quest by accident in Seasons 1 and 2, Season 3 finds him on a quest by choice—but first he needs some spare parts. (This latter is a search but not a quest.) He’s also shinier than I remember.

You mean I have to wait a week for the next episode?

P.S. When Mando arrived on Kalevala, I thought maybe he was stopping in to pay his respects to Maestro Sibelius. But no….
I liked Boba Fett

They didn’t actually dispatch any of the off-screen folks, did they? I mean, Dune might come back from her “Special Forces” gig, and Moff Gideon might get sprung by his lackeys, etc.
Not permanently disposed of...more like expeditiously removed from the storyline with an option to return

Not very happy with the R5 switcheroo.

IG11 was supposedly mission critical, and Mando lets the mechanic talk him another droid with little effort.

R5 was THAT droid. Its bad motivator was crucial to the destruction of the Empire. Seemed like fan service.

Another dark episode. Literally. Couldn’t see what was going on much of the time. Haven’t quite figured out what is going on in the larger sense either. I thought his search for redemption was going to carry us through the season. Apparently not. And how much does the darksaber weigh, anyway? Moff Gideon and Bo-whatsername twirl it around like Calvin Murphy used to do; but for Din, it weighs 500 lbs.? Life is full of mysteries.

We need an episode when Grogu meets John Wick
Well, we've already seen Yoda vs. Dooku and then Palpitine, so where's the suspense? I mean, we know that John Wick is pissed off, but I'm not sure that being pissed off confers an advantage here.

I must say, though, that it would be cute to see Grogu with a mini darksaber--and maybe therein lies the problem: Grogu's cuteness overwhelms everything else we know about him so far.

Mandalorian S3:E4 After last week’s sojourn in the caves of intrigue and mysteriosity, we’re back with Din Djarin and the gang, who are straight-shooters one and all. (“This is the Way.”) Pretty straightforward vanquish-the-monster-critter episode, although we do get a bit of Grogu’s back story in a backflash; to wit, he was in the Jedi Temple with the other Younglings when Order 66 hit. He got away—with help of course. But everybody seems happy enough at the end of E4. Chances are, it won’t last.

Half the season gone, and I don't where they're heading

The actor who portrayed Jedi Master Kelleran Beq, Ahmed Best, also portrayed Jar Jar Binks.
I did not know that until I saw it in a commentary thread

Mandalorian S3:E5 “The Pirate” or “How Many Sub-Plots Can We Keep Going Before Viewers Start Chanting ‘This Is Not The Way’?”

Grogu’s subplot? Well, for the time being, he coos. Twice—at least, that’s what the subtitles said; I didn’t hear anything.

But I must say that I’m glad that Moff Gideon didn’t end up lost in offstage oblivion. Giancarlo Esposito is just too wonderful to let the Moff be shuffled off to Crematoria and forgotten.

I reserve the right to reconsider this. While there are indeed a lot of threads from earlier episodes that re-appear in this episode, there are still three episodes left for the writers to make a whole cloth.

I am anxious for the storyline to get tighter / more focused also...but that was some quality SW action in Ep5.
