Just received the Tanga 3-Game Mystery Box, ordered earlier this month.  Containing:

Master of Rules

Magnet

Genji

None of these were games I would normally have ordered, and a couple of them were ones of which I was completely unaware.  Still, getting almost $50 worth of games for $14 isn't bad.  Judy wants to try out Magnet pretty soon.

Helen gave us a nice shot across the bow yesterday, as we played Samarkand again.  Her birthday game from 2010, which she likes a lot, but one in which she struggles to keep pace with the rest of us in terms of scoring points.  We walked through the scoring strategies again yesterday, and all of a sudden, everything clicked.  She blew her mom out of the water, and I was lucky to be tied with her at the end of the game.  A very formidable opponent has suddenly emerged.  Time for the gloves to come off.

Last Thursday we visited Board Game Nation again, this time playing, among other games, Glen More.  I did horribly at it but it is a really fun game.  It will soon be added to the collection.  Time to brush up on our Gaelic.

I played two solitaire games of Mousquetaires du Roy this weekend, mostly to get a better feel for the gameplay.  Yikes, it is pretty brutal.  Managing your cards, and utilizing special equipment and skill improvement is essential to having any chance at all against the game.  0-2, and BGG posters have commented that you're doing quite well to have a .500 record against the game.

Anyone thinking of getting this should be advised that the rule book is one of the most poorly-organized I have come across in awhile.  Going back to the original French won't help, because it is so haphazard in its layout.  The very first card I turned over today had me scurrying to BGG for an answer, because the rule book is so not good.  Once I got the rules figured out, it was fun, but rather tense.

Stumbled acrost this while perusing the PnP lists.  Once I get some ink back in the printer, we will be giving this a spin.  This shows enormous promise.  Law -n- Order types like Mr. Wonderful would not approve.

Yes, I'm a law and order librul. But don't think for a minute that I don't like a little show of anger. Random anger, violence and disorder is very bad, but targeted anger and disruption is very good.

Get angry -- just make sure the recipients of the anger are the people who deserve it. I don't care for collateral damage to innocent bystanders.

Yes, that's quite true.  I was personally acquainted with several of the "protesters," so-called, in that little scuffle.  They made it quite clear that they travelled over there for no other reason than to stir up shit and cause damage.  There was no higher purpose or objective to be achieved.

That being said, this game looks great.  It takes into account the PR aspect of the whole fracas, and there are different kinds of protester units involved in the game play.  If the public decides that you're just a bunch of window-smashing goons, then you lose the game.

If I were making the signs, it'd be more in line with "Down with the evil fucktards who are running most banks and corporations."

We ain't getting rid of 'em -- so regulate the fuck out of them. ;)

Maybe it's time for the 3rd BUS.  Zombie Alex Hamilton would approve, Zombie Andy Jackson, not so much

But if you regulate them, they just give money to politicians who will un-regulate them.  Although, in the case of Wall Street, they unregulated themselves from the SEC on their recognizance.  Tricky, evil bastages.
