Do you buy lots of stuff and like it quick? Do you like to stream music and video (a lot)? Then, probably. I think you'll also get free or discounted books, but I don't have a kindle (I do have Prime)

The free 2-day shipping is where you get your money's worth. We have been Prime customers for several years and they lose money on us.

The movies / TV series are OK. Netflix is much better for TV series and about the same for movies.

I like the music, but haven't used it as much as I should - yet. Borrowing books from the kindle library can also make up the $99 in a hurry if you read a lot of books.
I don't think you have to own a kindle - you can use the kindle app on your tablet / mobile device / laptop.

For the Kindle library borrowing, the device has to be a Kindle. Isn't applicable on the app on other devices

I do have a kindle, and I when I borrowed a book late last year, I also got it on my iPad's Kindle app.
Maybe a glitch? Only tried it the one time with both devices -- and only because I had left my Kindle up in MN that weekend.

Perhaps because you have a Kindle? I don't have a Kindle or a Fire, don't have the option to borrow books

Just checked on my own Prime membership, and it renews in 3 days. Not real sure that I want to pay the extra $20 from last year, but probably will. The shipping times are convenient, but their packaging is about as bad as can possibly be. I never buy board games from Amazon unless I really have no other choice.

Re-visiting the Lending Library....I have never been happy with the way the titles are organized. 800k titles broken into various sub-categories is a lot to page through.
