Does the HBO run of dominating series continue? When you stuff an hour drama full of T&A, beheadings and dwarves....you've announced your presence with authority.
I know people were not crazy about the last 2 seasons, and people didn't like the last season as much, and sure there are questions to be asked, but I thought the show was fulfilling, and am glad where everyone wound up. Dany could have had a better ending, but her obsession with power was her doom, same goes for Cersi.

On to Westworld Season 3 in 2020.

So after reading all the criticism and reviews, I watched the Finale again last night. I still think it is very well done, could they have used another episode or 2 to set things up, sure. But I think everyone ended up in the right place.

It was a big hit, maybe the biggest hit ever on HBO, with the biggest ratings for the finale. But people are really down on the last season and the finale in general.

It will be interesting to see how history will treat GOT. Surely it was a revolutionary series and HBO's biggest success. But will the poor reception by fans and critics of the final season and finale hurt overall, or will people change their minds when they look back?

Will it turn people off of interest in the prequels? Should D & D have gotten other writers to do it other than themselves in the last year?
Why wasn't Hot Pie elected King of the 6 Kingdoms?

1 week later, has anyone changed their minds on the Final Season and Finale?

The biggest gripes seemed to be Bran as the new King, Jaimie going back to be with Cersi, Why didn't Greyworm & The Dothraki just kill Jon after he kills Dany, Danny turning into a monster on short notice, Jon's identity not paying off (even if it did, just not what people wanted), and The Night King being underwhelming. I disagree with some of these, others are fair.

That's a pretty good list.

Add the direwolves, forgotten prophecies, forgotten characters, and the lack of explanation about who was in on choosing Bran.

For me the no 1. problem that needed to be explained more was why didn't Greyworm and the Dothraki just kill Jon and Tyrion once Dany died. Also who informed the other houses of what happened and why? By the time they killed Jon and Tyrion they could have been long gone before anyone found out.

I think everyone ended up where they had to, just needed a couple more episodes to better explain how they get there. If they all could have worked to put their differences aside and stop worrying about who ruled, Westeros would have been a happier place.
