Stupid question time.

The recent loss of my iPhone 3GS has put me in the market for a new phone. I was just going to replace it with another 3GS, but should I spend the extra hundski and get a 16GB iPhone 4?

Thanx, I'll hang up and listen.
Yes.  Speed and display.

shouldn't be. If you get another iPhone, you can back up/restore from the old phone via iTunes

but your last sync and backup isn't unless your computer is gone
Where can I find my contacts then? How will it know to sync with the new phone if its a new sim card?

Not sure in Windows, but should be connected to iTunes somehow. When you plug in your new phone, it will ask you if you want to use new settings or previous phone backup

Ditto.  As long as you regularly synced your phone, if you snc it with a new phone and transfer your settings, it's as if the other phone never existed.

It looks like I last synced my old phone on 06/19/2010 (iOS4 upgrade?). Its a shame, I had been meaning to update to the newest versiobn. Now I have to figure out what I am missing from the last 4 months.

Last synced in June? Tsk.

It's like brushing your teeth in the daily routine scale.

I cant explain it... but it take an hour or more to complete a sync... which is why I don't do it very often.

As I say this... it's still restoring my old settings... 2.5 hours later.

Wow.

Seems like something isn't sitting right. Try syncing again tomorrow to see if it still takes that long.

Is this on an iPhone 4? That's too long.  Took me about 15 minutes.

BTW, Zinzi, why am I no longer in your friends list on Game Center?
I noticed that myself and figured it was you and not me.  ;D

Maybe a sync thing or something.  New request on the way.

It's always been that way with each iPhone... a normal sync takes from 30 minutes to and hour... updates go near the 2 to 3 hour mark.

Sorry to hear that.  Seems pretty far out of the normal average experience -- even on my fairly beat up laptop.

Something is wrong.  Mine never takes over 10 minutes.

Also a possibly dumb question. cant iTunes give me back the apps I purchased since the last sync? they have a record of my purchase.

I'm not sure about that. I think if you try to download them again, they will tell you you've already purchased this app and download as normal, no charge.
