Mariotti Suspended From Fanhouse, Will Not Appear on ESPN Next Week
Sports pundit Jay Mariotti is beginning to feel the repercussions of his recent felony arrest.

AOL's Fanhouse.com announced on Thursday that it has suspended Mariotti, the first official punishment handed down since his arrest. Mariotti is in his second year with Fanhouse, following a nearly two-decade run with the Chicago Sun-Times.

While ESPN has not taken any official action against Mariotti, an ESPN spokesman told Sports Business Daily that the longtime Around the Horn panelist will not appear on the show next week.

Just add the phrase "This reporter has learned...." to all Todd's cut and paste jobs.
Tracking down Todd's sources could be a fun game...emphasis on "could."

ESPN Has "No Set Plans" To Use Mariotti
Less than two weeks after his felony arrest, Jay Mariotti's future with ESPN is murky at best.

ESPN currently has "no set plans to use" Mariotti, ESPN VP/Communications Mike Soltys told USA Today on Tuesday. Mariotti has been a panelist on Around The Horn since the show began eight years ago.

Mariotti has not appeared on ESPN since his August 21 arrest, though it should be pointed out that Around The Horn was off the air for most of that period.

While ESPN has not handed down any formal disciplinary action as of yet, Mariotti is serving a suspension from AOL's Fanhouse.com.

Report: No Charges Filed Against Mariotti
By on September 8, 2010 5:31 PMIt appears Jay Mariotti has dodged a major bullet.

According to the Beverly Hills Courier, The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office won’t pursue a legal case against the 51-year-old sports personality for an alleged incident that occurred last month in Venice, Calif.

According to Shiara Davila-Morales of the District Attorney’s Office, the case was referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.

Mariotti was arrested on Aug. 21 on suspicion of felony domestic assault after he was allegedly involved in an argument with his girlfriend.

Since the arrest, Mariotti has been suspended by Aol Fanhouse and hasn’t appeared on ESPN’s Around The Horn.

Since no charges were filed, does this mean we will see the polarizing Mariotti back at Aol and on ESPN in the near future?
