Tony opens the show by reading a few emails, Michael talks about his trip to South Carolina and to the Masters, and Tony also talks about when people make the decision to retire. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst calls in to talk about the problems the Lakers face after not making the playoffs, ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian phones in to talk about Clayton Kershaw, the unwritten rules of baseball, and the possibility of the Nats being sold, and Tony closes out the show by opening up the Mailbag.

Songs : Ralph Rillon “Real Love” ; Dan Bern “History Shmistory”

Classic late era podcast: more misty watercolor memories of the heir at The Masters, Tony out of his mind about the Nats (lost to Pittsburgh, but it looks like he missed them taking 2 of 3 from the Champions) and ERA's and Robles (Ohtani's ERA is 7.5, Nola's is 6.75; Schwarber is hitting .111). Oh, and the never ending Lakers talk.

Guests WERE good, though.

Dear Grandpa -- you would have had to leave your attic to test positive for anything. You're the guy who screamed at someone for using the same sidewalk as you and you're the guy who got off the elevator because of social distancing violations. Frankly I'm surprised you let anyone close enough to jab you with a needle. The only reason I can think of for you to test for antibodies is because it will give you another boring story to tell whilst killing time in the opening.

I just saw the Wendy Rieger news on the scrolling headline thing on msn.com [An Update On Wendy Rieger]. I clicked on it only because Tony has talked about Wendy numerous times and because Wendy has been on the show several times. I was shocked. I don't remember Tony saying anything about her cancer. If he did, it must have been a quick mention.

He never did; probably did not know. If I were in Wendy's shoes that's info I'd be keeping close to the vest. There is no silver lining here, but at least Wendy's loved ones get to say goodbye. That's often not the case.

I agree. According to the news articles, Wendy was only 65-years-old. It's just too young to die. Just not fair.
