Tony opens the show by talking about his surgery this past Monday; he also talks to Michael about baby Bootsie's birthday and also about his video greeting to George Solomon being edited without his knowledge. Richard Justice of MLB.com calls in to talk about baseball's deal to return, Michael Wilbon phones in to talk about the NBA's return and the problems they may face, and Tony closes out the show by opening up the Mailbag.

Songs : Susan Peak "I Like Sleeping in the Dog Bed" ; "A Gecko Named Smog"

Jeebus. The separate grudges against Cindy Boren (HBD, but not really) and the editors of the video tribute to George Solomon. Of course Tony and Wilbon's segment was going to be trimmed, that's how video works. Does anyone really think Tony would have been any less unhappy if the editors had notified him about what was left out beforehand?

Yeah, TK is not noted for his grace in such matters. Yes, it would have been NICE for the folks running the tribute to let them know, but it didn't justify that little temper tantrum. Note to TK: be the bigger person, for once.

But he checked with "editors" who told him he was right. The idea that he is holding a tribute video to the standards of hard journalism is both laughable and puzzling

At this point in time who would feel honored getting tribute from someone like tk since he would just complain about the process more than the event itself.

I disagree about the video part. The folks asked him/Wilbon - repeatedly, and that's the part that gets me - to do whatever they wanted, with no guidance, and then the majority (according to TK) of the video was edited out. As someone who works in video production (locally and now at a national level) if I had a client who I was asking for a favor from, I don't think I would then take it and chop it up without at least asking them first. I also don't think that I would actively ask more than once, but that's just me.

I do think that the "quarantine" format of the show doesn't lend itself to endearing TK (or MK, but that might not be possible at this point, I kid, I kid). Instead of going through the open of the show with his co-hosts and talking about sports or news happenings they just jump into Old Guy Radio talk - what's bugging TK, what he did on the dog walk, etc. and I feel like they have to build up to that stuff.

Like MK and the Bootsie story yesterday, I'm sorry MK but...well just watch the clip, NSFW language

Edit: Oh god the Bootsie story was the same show? I whiffed on that one

Just listened to the Wilbon segment - where has he been while the rest of the country has dealt with COVID? Sometimes he really baffles me

North Scottsdale? Trust me, Scottsdale (and other like-voting areas) hasn’t been dealing with the virus and and AZ is suffering mightily for it. Our ICU’s are rapidly reaching capacity. We were actually doing pretty well until Trump visited Gov. Douchey and the scientists were hastily discounted and dismissed. And still the Freedumb anti-mask crowd persists here. Of course, when you see what AZ has done to defund public education here, I’m not surprised.
