Tony opens the show by reading a few emails and he talks to Michael about the celebrity golf match with Phil, Tiger, Brady and Peyton. Michael Wilbon calls in to talk more golf as well as when the NBA and MLB might start up again, Jeanne McManus phones in talk about Memorial Day Weekend in DC, and Tony closes out the show by opening up the Mailbag.

Songs : Jessica Mitchell "One of These Things" ; "Grown Up Things"

Even though I'm not an English major, I do love language & vocabulary, so one sliver lining of the Wilbon cloud is that I get to use the word 'insufferable' more often than otherwise.

BTW, were you aware he was a trustee of a major university?

Yeah love how he worked that in. Also alluded to his friendship with Barkley on two separate occasions, and spent the first three minutes talking about how nice it is where he lives compared to everywhere else.

And re: Michael? "Because I'm an english major, I think more about the rain than most people" -- Did I get that right? What the hell does that mean?

Oh, Wilbon.. I had Covid. Put me in the hospital for 2 weeks and I lost 30lbs. And I took every precaution known to mankind. Listen to the damn doctors.

MK wouldn't know funny if it walked in the door with a sign on that said : "Hello, I'm humor" and handed him a joke list from the greatest comedians of all time.
I'm sure he's a lovely guy and a good son, husband, and father. But he is one of the least funny people EVER.

Michael Kornhei$er is a tremendous person. Humble and demure, but definitely without a sense of humor (as you all have ascertained). That said, fortunately he is the opposite of his father in other ways, such as not being an asshole, while Tony is an a-hole, and Michael is not a narcissistic look-at-me pretentious douchebag, which Tony sadly has become, even more so in recent years, with notoriety (and his ass-kissing sycophants) blowing up his ego, and millions of dollars from ESPN flowing into his bloated bank account, all for being a Sports Hot Takes gasbag.

Either you have as a radio host/guest or you don’t. I love Liz and think she’s smart, thoughtful and funny. But she’s just OK on the podcast and her tics would probably be grating if she were on multiple times a week. The Oc (RIP) who was a widely respected college hoops writer was awful.

I don’t like it when Kevin‘s on the show, but he has personality. So do Gary, Torie and Jeannie. MK just doesn’t have the it factor. Doesn’t make him a bad guy, just a below average co-host.

The best second chair for TK was, is, and will remain, Andy Polley. Leaving aside his insistence that EVERY day is a great day to talk about the Skins of yesteryear, Andy was funny enough, smart, and was a guy who knew when a segment had dragged on, and when a segment could be extended a little, and he kept things running smoothly.
