oh they would definitely put a patch on the hat and say he would want us to play the season for him.
Although he long ago turned into an insufferable crank, Mushnick used to do a rant about how hollow dedicating a season to someone is as a gesture. You don’t go to the grocery store and have the checkout person say that they are dedicating their scanning of your groceries to a colleague who had recently passed away.
