Tony opens the show by talking about his memories of doing shows on Radio Row at the Super Bowl, plus he talks about his new boots and a video message he got from Peter Asher. Washington Post columnist Sally Jenkins calls in to give her thoughts on the Super Bowl, and Tony gets picks from James Carville, Jeff Ma, Chuck Todd, and Reginald the Monkey. And, as always, Tony closes out the show by opening up the Mailbag.

Songs : Brandon Costello "Dark Blue" ; "Button Up, Buttercup"

The only way Tampa Bay wins is if KC tanks like The Eagles did against the WFT. Tampa shouldn’t even be here

What was the "very mean" email that got you put in time out?
It wasn't particularly mean. I mocked him -- as did others -- for naming George Martin and Phil Spector as the most influential non-performers in rock and roll, as if guys like Berry Gordy and Sam Phillips didn't exist. I can assure you, I've been much meaner.

This is it:

"Dr. HOFWOF:

So, the two most important non-musician figures in the history of rock are Phil Spector and George Martin. White guys from the 60s. Shocking, from you.

Let’s try:

Berry Gordy did a few things at Motown; you might have heard a few. You seriously think George Martin is more important than Berry Gordy?

Sam Phillips produced Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, and Howlin' Wolf. Not bad.

I could keep going. Try harder.

And the Eddie Money song, for God’s sake, is called, “Take Me Home Tonight,” not “Just Like Ronnie Said.”

Oy,

Sincerely,

Mike from Burke, VA"

I know I complain a lot about Mikey’s Daily FescueChat presented by Titleist Pro V1x but I really enjoyed this show—especially the emails (shoutout to Mike & Mr. Cromwell) and the button at the end. A near-perfect bookend to the Asher story.

Hahaa! Thank ya Johnny, and good night.

Wait, Rick Barry came to speak with him one year on radio row?

Sic semper Rickus Barrius, in the Virginian sense.

Can't remember the last time TK was on radio row. And obviously he can't remember either. I know that a few years ago PTI was on site, but that gave TK plenty of time to play golf in the morning and be on the set with time to spare.

weird that they bleeped Carville, when you can barely understand him, yet nothing on Chuck Todd, who may have said the same word (albeit a different spelling and context)

Monday: Hole-by-hole analysis of the Waste Management Open, favorite Superbowl commercials. They might get to the game itself.

The shot taken when somebody's backside was right up against a cactus should make for riveting analysis of the player activating his glutes.

If Jeff Ma is one or two games over .500, then you lose if you bet with him, unless you have the rare bookie who doesn’t charge a vig.

That was it? I didn't find that particularly mean...you pointed out salient facts. Mr. Tony is turning pussy in his old age.

I'm laughing at Jeff Ma's barely .500 process. Hey Jeff Ma, you wanna know my process? Don't bet on quarterbacks who put ketchup on steak. Patrick Mahomes is a barbarian.

Every once in a while I wonder if Ma just kind of wings it a little on the TK podcast, and saves his actual "process" for his own show.
