Finally got around to seeing Black Widow. It was an odd mix of amusement park ride and pathos. Johansson is so effective at all the gymnastic and martial arts trickery that you expect her to be nothing but cool. But she's not: she cries easily. In fact, one of the most moving scenes in Endgame was her trying to keep herself together while eating a peanut butter sandwich. Black Widow has a few moments like that, but, having seen her in Endgame, I was more prepared. David Harbour has a wonderful time as a sort of louche super soldier. Florence Pugh as the Black Widow's younger "sister" (the characters aren't biological sisters and thereby hangs a plot point) nearly steals the show, even though it is clearly meant to be Johansson's valedictory.

Some fun to be had, but Thor: Ragnarok still claims the title as the most fun of the Marvel series.

No Time to Die - Really Good finale to the Daniel Craig Bond films. It is really well done and Daniel Craig again is excellent. The biggest flaw is the villan played by Rami Malek, who is good in the role but not in the film enough to be a worthy foe. It probably could have cut 20 minutes or so, but it didn't feel like it dragged.
I'd give it a B+

_Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings_. Ah, the “Mysterious Orient.” I’m beginning to come round to Scorsese’s opinion: these things are indeed amusement park rides, not movies.

That said, I think I first saw Tony Leung alongside Jet Li in _Hero_, which is one of the most gorgeous movies I’ve ever seen. Leung has the chops to bring really complex characters to the screen, and this one is no exception: is he just an ageless tyrant/gang boss bent only on accumulating power, or is he a husband blinded by grief over the murder of his wife? Leung brings us both.

Michelle Yeoh is becoming the Mother of Us All. I don’t know if that’s good or bad.

Akwafina plays herself; Simu Liu is our lithe and handsome (“What happened to your shirt?”) hero.

About four too many martial arts fights. When one starts, it’s my cue to go take a whizz and get a sandwich. And then hope the fight is done by the time I get back.

Watching _The Beatles: Get Back_. When Yoko Ono first started screeching into the mic, Mrs. Menno, who wasn’t paying attention, wanted to know what that sound was.

I told her it was the sound of the Beatles breaking up.

It’s long. Really long. Interminable. _Real_ Beatles fans will likely find it captivating.

People on the TV board love it. I'll be sure to let you know how I feel when we finally get around to watching it. Because I know you (all) care...

It's possible that I'm just too old and tired to be a fanboi any more. I mean, after I first read Lawrence Durrell's Alexandria Quartet, I wanted to go to Sommières and camp out at his house. That's what you do when you're young. When you're old, it's "Get the hell out of my yard!"

Rocky vs Drago. An interesting new look at Rocky IV, with lots of new scenes added. They cut out alot of stuff too, some which was deserved, some which could have been left in. A worthwhile view if you are a fan of the Rocky series.

Ghostbusters Afterlife. If you are a fan of the original Ghostbusters movie from 1984, then this movie is for you. It is a wonderful tribute to Harold Ramis and the original cast, and a wonderful new cast of young actors and a funny performance from Paul Rudd. Don't know why the critics were in the middle on this movie, but it is alot of fun.

King Richard The story of Richard Williams and the Williams Sisters. Excellent job by Will Smith who will for sure get an Oscar Nom if not win. Really good movie. Check it out.

Beatles Get Back.
I'm a die had Beatles fan.
I did not find film long or boring.
Yoko screaming? Really?
What bothers me is this craze of merchandizing since the remastering started
These new formats of Live at Hollywood Bowl, Sgt. Pepper, White Album, Abbey Road and Let It Be I stream on Spotify.

The Matrix Resurrections. It was ok, too much of a rehash without adding anything new or compelling. It was better than Revolutions but still not good. probably a 5 out of 10, maybe 6. I can see varying opinions on this though.

Don't Look Up

Mostly good. Great at times. Meh at times.

I need to know if that was Meryl Streep at the end, or a body double.

Nobody
This movie was like a John Wick type, just with Saul Goodman and Christopher Lloyd. Fun if you don't take it too seriously. 7/10

Don't Look Up - a very funny satire with Leo, Jen Lawrence, Meryl Streep and others. Adam McKay does a nice job with a strong cast and really shows how dumb our society really is. This isn't for everyone, but if you have a good sense of humor and like satire films, then it is worth seeing.
