FAQ

What is Mr. Tony referring to when he talks about a "vacation" back in July, 2002?

"Vacation," but not by choice.

In mid-2002, a scandal broke out at ESPN involving an on-air host (Jason Jackson) allegedly sending inappropriate and sexually laced e-mails to a co-worker. After his subsequent firing, ESPN decided to look at e-mail records for all ESPN Radio employees. With this sweep, some producers got the axe, including popular TK producer Denis Horgan, Jr.

TK didn't take kindly to the firing of a good friend. Many times he mentioned on-air and on the infamous Internet show how he wasn't pleased with ESPN's decision. Management, including Eric Schoenfeld, didn't take too kindly to TK's on-air statements to the matter and gave hima cease-and-desist order. TK ignored, and ESPN Radio responded by suspending him for a week. TK already scheduled vacation time during most of the month of July of 2002, so in essence, TK took a "vacation" for the month of July. Subsequent shows only refer to the suspension of his "vacation."

As a follow-up, the relationship between Eric Schoenfeld and TK disintigrated. An incident occured later in the year between producers Ray Necci and Phil "The Showkiller" Ceppaglia where Eric threatened to choke out Phil. Eric was suspended for a week and eventually reassigned within the company or fired (no one knows for sure).
