In 2003, Mr. Tony inexplicably wanted to give himself a nickname. He came up with Satchmo because it sounded cool. Fortunately for him, it stuck, since giving yourself a nickname is usually bad luck. The genesis of the nickname Satchmo can be found on Satchmo.net.
